Complex analysis
of the gut microbiota
composition of 0-14
years old children
What is ENTEROFLOR
Kiddy?
A new technology to quantify the gut microbiota composition developed by DNA-Technology company in partnership with clinicians.

  • For 0-14 years old children.
  • Biomaterial: feces, meconium.
  • Based on real-time PCR, one of the most accurate and fastest methods.
  • Registered as IVD medical product in Russia and abroad as CE IVD.
About ENTEROFLOR Kiddy Kit
The process has started!
Research ENTEROFLOR Kiddy in the medical laboratories of the world.
Advantages of the ENTEROFLOR Kiddy assay
  • 99,9% microorganisms
    Quantification of 43 specific markers. Detects 99,9% of microorganism species of children's gut microbiota.
  • Modern diagnostic approach
    Developed on the basis of modern fundamental ideas about the human microbiome.
  • Flexible storage conditions
    Samples can be stored at 2 °C to 8 °C for up to 3 days.
  • Fast analysis
    The results can be obtained just in a few hours.
  • Consider age norms
    The conclusion is formed with regard to the age norms of the children's gut microbiota composition.
  • Versatility
    May be combined with other feces examination methods.
When is the test recommended?
  • long-term intestinal disorders caused by unspecified microorganism;
  • intestinal dysfunction in children with intensive antibiotic and/or immunosuppressive therapy, long-term chemotherapy or hormone therapy;
  • prolonged recovery period after dysentery or other acute intestinal infections (AII);
  • preoperative period in patients in intestinal dysbiosis risk group;
  • allergic diseases (atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, etc.) that are difficult to treat;
  • intrauterine infection;
  • early formula feeding;
  • breast milk intolerance;
  • immunodeficiency states;
  • frequent acute respiratory infections;
  • slow postnatal weight gain or weight loss, failure to thrive;
  • stomatitis, candidiasis;
  • control of the development of gut microbiota in children during the first year of life.
Main markers of ENTEROFLOR Kiddy

Determination of the gut microbiota status by the relative abundance of normobiota and opportunistic microbiota in the total bacterial mass (TBM):

  • quantitative estimation of normobiota: phyla Actinomycetota (previously Actinobacteria), Bacillota (previously Firmicutes), Bacteroidota (previously Bacteroidetes)*, opportunistic microbiota and yeast fungi from genus Candida;
  • diversity of normal microbiota;
  • number of bifido- and lactobacilli;
  • bifidobacteria species;
  • presence of Bacteroidota (previously Bacteroidetes);
  • Bacillota (previously Firmicutes)/Bacteroidota (previously Bacteroidetes)ratio;
  • markers of pathogenicity and resistance.

* according to nomenclature approved by International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes, the following names are adopted: Bacillota (previously Firmicutes), Bacteroidota (previously Bacteroidetes), Actinomycetota (previously Actinobacteria)

A complete list of markers is given on page 2 of the results form.

How to prepare the biomaterial?
No special patient preparation is required.

The assay is recommended to be performed no earlier than 2 days after the end of enterosorbents, pro- and prebiotics intake.

Collect one measuring spoon of fresh feces or meconium to a container, close tightly and store at room temperature (from 18 °C to 25 °C) for no more than 6 hours.

The sample can be stored in a refrigerator at 2 °C - 8 °C and delivered to the laboratory within 3 days.

Patient record

Information about the patient, biomaterial and physician who ordered the assay. Age of the patient must be specified to get a correct results interpretation.

Brief report

Brief report is formed with regard to child’s age by comparison of the ratios of different microorganisms / groups of microorganisms, both among themselves and with the total number of bacteria.
